Islam does not forbid recreation or entertainment. In fact, leisure—when approached with moderation and good intention—is encouraged as a way to refresh the mind and body. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:

"Indeed, your body has a right over you." (Sahih al-Bukhari)

However, Islamic teachings emphasize moderation, purpose, and the avoidance of anything harmful to one's faith, health, or time. Thus, the key lies not in the act of gaming itself, but in the content of the game, the behavior it encourages, and the effect it has on the individual.
